To celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of "ZAIMOKU THE TERRACE," a surf club in Zaimokuza, Kamakura, produced by "HONEY," a compilation album of Japanese artists from "HONEY meets ISLAND CAFE," "-Sea Of Love 2-," will be released on July 19th!
The participating artists are a total of 15 groups who play music that evokes the sea.
The acoustic cover of Eagles' "Best Of My Love" by Michael Kaneko, a new generation surf-inspired singer who is in high demand at GREENROOM, Fuji Rock Festival and other festivals, and Toyama Ryo, a Hawaiian Grammy Award-winning ukulele player, is a special track that can only be heard on this album.
The album also includes an exclusive acoustic cover of the Spitz classic "Nagisa" by surf singer Lisa Halim, who is also a Roxy Girl.
The album also features a wealth of works by female artists with a sea feel, including a self-cover version of the classic "Sunahama" by Japanese surf J-POP legend Anri, internationally acclaimed jazz singer Emi Meyer, and HONEY singer audition winner Furukawa Sarah.
Also included is "Yakusoku," a masterpiece by 90's singer Bird, the acoustic soul "Sailing To Your Love" by Port Of Notes, and this time, we have selected works by talented new generation club/jazz artists such as Lotus Land, BLU-SWING, and 13souls, as well as recordings by sensitive new generation artists such as Kenichiro Nishihara, Ovall, vusik, and Drian feat. G Rina, and the latest recordings from Tremono, a band from Ishigaki Island who has just made their major debut.
This is a masterpiece album in which artists from various genres, including J-POP, acoustic, surf, jazz, soul, and electronica, coexist comfortably with the keyword "sea."
