[CD] Iyemon Salon Kyoto presents Sound Of Kyoto

A music CD has been released by Iyemon Salon Kyoto, a cafe lounge in Sanjo Karasuma, Kyoto, which was established in 2008 with the world view of Suntory's green tea "Iyemon" in mind.
This concept album has the theme of "Tea x Japanese x Modern x Kyoto" and aims to convey the worldview of Iyemon Salon to the world through music.

The songs included are a selection of music that will give you a sense of Kyoto in a variety of settings.
A superb Brazilian jazz cover of "My Favorite Things," a familiar song from JR Central's "Let's Go to Kyoto" commercial. The original version of Air's famous song "Alone In Kyoto," used impressively in the scene in the Academy Award-winning and Golden Globe-winning film "Lost in Translation" in which lead actress Scarlett Johansson walks alone through Kyoto. Includes globally known music from Kyoto, such as "Satin Doll," a classic by Kyoto-born jazz vocal legend Kimiko Kasai.

In addition, Shuya Okino (KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET) and Shinichi Osawa (Mondo Grosso), who have expanded their activities from the Kyoto club scene to the world music scene, and Masakatsu Takagi, a musician from Kyoto who represents the modern era, are featured on the album. In addition to Kyoto-themed songs and artists from Kyoto such as Nabowa, jizue, and THE BED ROOM TAPE, the album contains 13 carefully selected "Kyoto Music" tracks based on "Tea x Japanese x Modern x Kyoto," including the first recording in Japan of a CD by Aso, a sound producer from LA who skillfully uses the latest sounds and Japanese to express Kyoto.

Japan is proud of its culture and spirit through "tea". This album allows you to feel the atmosphere of Iyemon Salon Kyoto through music, and will provide a new way to enjoy tea and elegantly enhance your everyday moments.
