⚪︎ A 7-inch single cut from "Cafe Apres-midi Meets Studio Ghibli," a newly recorded Ghibli song cover compilation featuring 12 super luxurious artists, themed around "the happiness of an afternoon coffee," supervised and selected by Toru Hashimoto (SUBURBIA), with artwork by Jiro Fujita (FJD), and mastered by Calm!

⚪︎SIDE-A: Yoshiharu Takeda feat. Ann Sally / Inochi no Kioku (Memory of Life)
This Ghibli song, a collaboration between Yoshiharu Takeda, a rising composer/keyboardist praised by numerous artists and listeners for his exceptionally soothing music blending chill-out, jazz, ambient, Balearic, and world music, and Ann Sally, a wonderful singer-songwriter whose comforting and healing voice has been widely heard since her debut in 2001, is a cover of Kazumi Nikaido's "Inochi no Kioku," the theme song from Isao Takahata's 2013 film, "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya."
A slow jazz arrangement woven with leisurely brushed drums and warm bass gently enveloping a melody filled with love and tenderness. The distant pedal steel and handpan occasionally heard resonate like a paradise, while Ann Sally's voice, direct and pure with high transparency, feels like an angel descending into that paradise. Her vocal style, carefully articulating each word, perfectly conveys the message embedded in the original, marking the birth of a top-tier, universally acclaimed cover.

⚪︎SIDE-AA: Yuigah with Takuro Okada / Teru no Uta (Therru's Song)
This Ghibli song is a perfect collaboration between Yuigah, a wonderful singer-songwriter whose captivating voice has been highly praised since her first album in 2015, and who perfects her evolving musical style rooted in folk, soul, and R&B with her unique voice, and Takuro Okada, a trusted guitarist/producer who also produced her masterpiece album "Love Deluxe" and participates in various artists' works. It is a cover of Aoi Teshima's "Teru no Uta," the theme song from Goro Miyazaki's 2006 film, "Tales from Earthsea."
Yuigah's voice, which portrays the world of the original lullaby more deeply, tranquilly, and spiritually, possesses an exceptional and singular presence. Takuro Okada's arrangement, which further expresses the ethereal and subtly permeating resonance of the song in a meditative way, invites listeners into a peaceful harmony of sound, like a serene utopia. Modest in its demeanor, yet brimming with spiritual richness, this is the birth of a supreme and exquisite cover.

⚪︎The jacket features newly drawn illustrations by Shiho Sato, a painter who works on backgrounds for Studio Ghibli films, and Shinichiro Yamada, an animator from Ghibli, with design by FJD!
