This Ghibli song by the perfectly matched collaboration of Yoshiharu Takeda, a rising composer/keyboardist who plays excellent, soothing music that blends chill-out, jazz, ambient, Balearic, and world music, and has received endless praise from many artists and listeners, and Ann Sally, a wonderful singer-songwriter whose comforting, healing voice has been widely heard since her debut in 2001, is a cover of Kazumi Nikaido's "Inochi no Kioku", the theme song for director Isao Takahata's 2013 film "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya".
A slow jazz arrangement woven by the relaxed brush drums and warm bass, gently enveloping the melody filled with love and tenderness. Yuagah's voice, which depicts the world of the original song like a lullaby more deeply, quietly, and spiritually, has a special and unique presence. Takuro Okada's arrangement, which expresses the fantastical and deeply permeating sound of the song even more meditatively, leads to a peaceful harmony of sound like a quiet utopia.
