[LP] Gota Nishidera / Human

Gota Nishidera (NONA REEVES)'s "Human," a cover album full of humanity, focusing on 80s and 90s deep city pop (kayokyoku/new music), is complete!
These are classic songs that poured into the streets between the Showa and Heisei eras, from TV, radio, TV anime, snack bars, and karaoke.
The LP of this masterpiece, filled with love and homage to Japanese pop music, which found its future by pursuing nostalgia, will be released on May 29th (Friday)!

Gota Nishidera (NONA REEVES)'s cover album "Human," which delves into 80s and 90s kayokyoku/new music with a "human touch," is now on sale. Following his well-received solo cover album "Sunset Rain" in 2023, this work features songs chosen and produced with a sense that crosses a wider range of genres than ever before. It includes works by Kyohei Tsutsumi and Reiko Yukawa, from whom Nishidera himself learned directly, as well as Eiichi Ohtaki, to whom he pays deep respect for his approach to "pop music research and practice."

Gota Nishidera has revisited Japanese pop music after successful experiences throughout Asia, including two China tours with NONA REEVES and a solo performance in Taiwan. The ultimate 8 songs, densely vacuum-packed with its charm, are now complete.
Born in 1973, Nishidera grew up immersed in Japanese music that emerged from 1980, the "beginning of a new era." He updates these songs to the present day from his perspective, redefining them in a modern and fresh way with sounds and vocals full of deep affection for the originals.

The album was produced with Ken Tomita and Tomoya Yamagata, whom Gota Nishidera has trusted for many years, and the young talent Yuda Ohi.
Track 5, "Woman 'W no Higeki' yori," also features a duet with Megumi Mashiro, the vocalist of Hicksille, with whom NONA REEVES has collaborated for many years on their works and live performances.

Mastering was handled by the Balearic/Ambient prodigy Calm. The perfect sound image has been created.

The jacket design was handled by Keita Fukumi, producer of the YouTube channel "Gota Nishidera Channel NGC." It captures Gota Nishidera getting his usual haircut at a barbershop in his hometown of Sancha, vividly expressing his "humanity = Human" feeling visually.
